Why Do Guys Need Pectoral Implants?

Today no one is surprised when females have breast implants but the question now is: Why are men opting for pectoral implants?

One of the reasons is that steroids are out of favor, and most are illegal. No one wants to admit they use steroids, even bodybuilders, who are the most apt to care how their pecs look to others. And not only their pecs, bodybuilders also gluteal implants, calf and biceps implants.

The truth is, some guys are just not genetically gifted when it comes to gaining muscle mass in certain spots on their bodies. Some guys can work out forever and their bodies still don’t look the way they want them to look. Steroids are not the answer. They have many side effects, including the possibility of stopping the heart.

That leaves some bodybuilders left to prepare for competitions with no way to enhance the bulk and definition of their muscles. There is an answer. What can’t be achieved by weightlifting, can be accomplished through surgery.

The most popular implants are chest or pectoral implants. Following these are the augmentation of calves, upper arms (biceps) and buttocks (gluteal implants). You can even have custom implantation done on other areas of the body.

While this might seem a bit like cheating to old-timers, these bodybuilders counter the claim by acknowledging they have worked out as hard as they can without getting the results they wanted. It’s not like they want to achieve results without hard work. They just will never accomplish what they want to accomplish without this added assistance.

Pectoral implants can contribute greatly in the areas of muscle definition and bulking up. Not only can they make you look better, the fact that you look better can greatly increase your self-confidence.

The first thing you should do is find a board-certified plastic surgeon and set up an appointment for a consultation. Any surgery can have risks and complications can occur. Make sure to give your surgeon your complete medical history, including any health problems you have, such as heart disease or diabetes and the details of any past surgeries.

Tell your surgeon if you have used steroids or have any current or chronic health problems. Be completely honest about it. Make him or her aware of any medications you are taking. There are always risks associated with any surgical procedure. Make sure your surgeon discusses each of these risks with you before you sign any papers for the procedure.

Choose a surgeon that has an excellent track record with pectoral implants. A plastic surgeon should be quick to give you a recommendation from a satisfied patient and show you before and after photographs of work they have done.

Silicone implants are the type used in pectoral implants. These are the same kind used in women for breast implants. This type of silicone is also used to surround cardiac pacemakers. It is a solid but soft material and not a silicone gel. No diseases are associated with this type of implant.

The biggest problem would be if an infection developed. This problem usually occurs within the first two months after surgery. Should such a situation develop, the implants would be removed and you would be treated with antibiotics. This type of infection can be life threatening but it is a rare occurrence. The implants can be replaced when the infection is gone.

If you decide you want to have pectoral implants, you will need to stop working out a couple weeks before the surgery and your doctor will most likely advise you to not work out for another month after surgery.

If you are having trouble developing muscle mass in your chest and are serious about competing, pectoral implants may be the solution for you.
